Rainy Day Wedding

The Bride & Groom are in their rooms, haven’t seen each other yet
Guests are all taking their seats, they’re getting soaking wet
The minister’s umbrella’s broke; his bible is in bad shape
Father of the bride he makes a joke, as the flower girl
Samples the cake

The DJ queues the Wedding March, the bridal party takes there place
The groomsman that the bride just didn’t want, he’s already shit-faced
The ring bearer jumps in a puddle just for fun, he covered head to toe in Mississippi mud
The father of the bride has got fire in his eyes, he never liked the groom
And he whispers in his ear “I own a gun”

The minister works fast, his notes are running, he gets their first names wrong
He spits out the vows and they repeat them quickly, just to get this whole thing done
No one can hear him through the thunder of the storm, as he pronounces them, man & wife
And as they turn to face the congregation, the bride is filled with jubilation
She’s smiling, she’s not crying and she says

A rainy day wedding is good luck that’s what I’m betting
And I’d bet every envelope this will last forever
A rainy day wedding is not the least bit upsetting
Cause I believe in superstitions, I know that this will all work out
So let the rain fall down, yeah let all come down
